Bonnet Gas Strut Installation Guide
1. Remove the factory bonnet hinge bolts
Carefully remove the factory bonnet hinge bolts. Have a second person support the bonnet to prevent it from falling or moving while the bolts are disconnected. Install the bonnet mounting brackets and secure them using the factory bolts.
2. Check bonnet alignment
Before fully tightening the bolts, ensure the bonnet is positioned in its original location. Check that the bonnet alignment and gaps are correct, then tighten all bolts securely.
3. Install the ball studs
Install the supplied ball studs into the factory mounting holes in the vehicle body. Secure each ball stud using the supplied nuts and washers.
4. Install the gas struts
Push the gas strut sockets firmly onto the ball studs until they are securely seated. Ensure the gas struts are installed in the correct orientation, as shown in the installation diagram.
5. Repeat on the opposite side
Repeat the installation process on the opposite side of the bonnet. Check that all brackets, ball studs, and bolts are correctly installed and securely tightened before operating the bonnet.
