Simple Steps to Reshape Your Floor Mats After Shipping
The floor mats are made from Thermoplastic Vulcanised Rubber (TPV), an advanced automotive‑grade elastomer designed for high flexibility, impact resistance, and long‑term dimensional stability. TPV has a natural thermal shape‑memory property, meaning the material will relax and return to its original molded geometry when exposed to heat.
Because the mats are tightly wrapped during packaging and transport, slight deformation can occur. This is normal for TPV products.
To restore the mats to their correct shape:
- Place them under direct sunlight or in a warm environment.
- As the TPV warms, the polymer chains soften and release internal stresses.
- The mats will gradually return to their factory‑molded form.
Estimated warm‑up times:
-
On a sunny day (25–35°C):
Typically 20–40 minutes in direct sunlight is enough for full reshaping. -
Mild weather (15–25°C):
Around 45–90 minutes may be required. -
Cool or cloudy conditions:
You may need 1–2 hours, or alternatively place the mats indoors near a heater or use warm (not boiling) water to accelerate the process.
Once warmed, the mats will settle flat and regain their precise fit.
